Another 2012 in review

This is another round up of 2012.  These are all my journals and sketchbooks for the year.  I like to enhance the covers with stickers and other things.  The photo on flickr has info on each of them.

I use a variety of hardcover books as journals.  My sketchbooks have mostly been hard cover. As I returned to watercolor sketching in February, I first used two paper Starthmore books.  I soon discovered it was better to have a hard cover book that would support clipping of palette and water container so I could have everthing within reach if I had to stand to sketch.

In the journals, I add clippings and prints of my photos to my daily writings.  This tends to over stretch the bindings!  You can’t tell from this photo but some of them are about half again as thick as they are meant to be.

Although the Word Press annual summary is interesting, I have been enjoying your personal year in review. I thought it was very creative to amass all your sketchbooks and journals and photograph them. If I was organized enough to have such books I would steal the idea. However, my sketching takes place on any piece of paper I can find. I’m afraid my photo would look like a storm in a paper mill.

Thanks for your comment! I have several individual pieces of watercolor paper. They are stored in the large 3 ring binder that stands at the back of the group of sketchbooks. I think it would be interesting to pile all your pieces of paper together for a group photo!
