The morning started off quietly at the Museum.  So I had some time to do a sketch first thing.  I’ve sketched the Space Shuttle trainer a lot, especially from my position at the front of the Gallery.  So this is opposite it, the admissions desk and store kiosk.

Pen, Pentel brush pen and waterbrush with mix of ink and water done in a pocket Moleskine sketchbook.  That paper really doesn’t take any liquid media!

  1. I’ve been frustrated many times when I’ve forgotten how bad Moleskine paper is with wet media. I finally stopped carrying that sketchbook around to save myself the grief. It’s great with markers and brush pens, though, if you can resist trying to make it wash.

I thought a light ink wash would be OK. Silly me! I’ll switch to the watercolor book after I finish this one, in which there are only a couple more pages. It fits well into the tiny bag I carry at the Museum just for references and a couple essentials.
