The day started with the Tacoma Sketchers monthly outing. We met at the Museum of Glass and sketched around the plaza. I noticed a film crew. They were working on a car commercial and the car was placed by one of the pools. I got most of the sketch done before they moved on to a new location.
I next sketched a view that I’d done last year. The hot shop tower of the Museum of Glass and a fountain in the foreground.
The sketchers:

Jeanne, Frances, Rom, Bob, Frances, Kate
The sketches:
I like this sculpture:
After the sketching, 3 of us went over the bridge and across the street to Tinkertopia, They “work with local businesses, capturing safe, reusable materials from the waste stream and re-imangines these as unusual arts and craft supplies for kids, teachers, makers and tinkerers.” There is all kinds of stuff there.
I went next to the Mary Olson farm in Auburn where they were having an open house and demonstration of 1900 farm life. The house dates from 1902 and has been restored to that time.
The museum of glass is my most favorite place in Tacoma. Tinkertopia looks great. The RAFT warehouses are only for teachers, and I have felt that they should be open to artists too.
