A sweet sketch outing

Seattle Urban Sketchers met for our monthly sketch outing at Boehm’s Chocolates in Issaquah, WA.

I first focused on the weather vane and upper story windows.

Then I sketched in the kitchen:

We shared our sketches.

The founder, Julius Boehm, built this authentic Swiss Chalet.  It is the first authentic one in the US.  The ground floor is the store and attached chocolate factory.  The upper story was his home, completely decorated in the Alpine style.

The exterior of the Luis Trenker Kirch’l is a replica of a 12the century chapel near St. Moritz Switzerland.  It is often used for weddings now.

Mindy gave us an excellent tour of the entire place.  She also kept both the residence and the chapel open so we could sketch inside.  Thanks, Mindy!

I took lots of photos around the grounds and in the buildings.  All the photos are here.
