It was a wet morning near Tacoma.  I intended to meet up with other Tacoma area sketchers at the Antique Sandwich Co. in the small village of Ruston.  This was a charming cafe, the sort of place I’d be happy to make my local if I lived near.

I though I’d only have a few minutes, so I chose a section of the large, antique bar to draw in the pocket watercolor Moleskine.

I shared a table with a nice couple who had came on the ferry from Vashon Island to do some mall shopping.  They were familiar with “the Seattle Sketcher” in the Times.  I gave them cards for Seattle and Tacoma Urban Sketchers.
