Lecture and Demo

I was all over the map this morning.  It began at 9am with a members-only presentation at the Museum of Flight.  Kathrine Brown, Assistant Registrar, gave the presentation on “Style in the Aisle” about the uniforms of flight attendants

I moved on the Daniel Smith’s mothership in Seattle.  There was a Watercolor Demonstration, “Here Comes the Sun” by Cindy Briggs & Theresa Goesling.

They recommended the DS Black Gold Watercolor 311 Quill Brush in size 4.  They said
it can both draw with a sharp point or lay down wide swathes of color.  DS mothership was all out of that size.  Since I tend to paint in small sketchbooks, I tried the size 0 as it was in stock.  I painted the sketches in the next post with it and was very pleased.

Also a maintenance hint from them.  If the point gets soft, one can try dipping it in boiling hot water to bring back the point, at least for a little while.
