Wolf wanted to see the Spy exhibit at the Pacific Science Center (SPY: The Secret World of Espionage) We went today because a part of another exhibit leaves next week. He also
wanted to see the Game of Thrones costumes that are temporarily part of the Science Fiction Museum’s “Fantasy” installation. All the photos are here.
No photos were allowed in the Spy exhibit and it was quite dark. I did manage a quick sketch of this first ever “surveillance drone”. This is a mount of a pigeon with it’s camera circa 1903. Done in near darkness in a pocket Moleskine watercolor sketchbook. Colored later from memory.
We spent about 2 hours in the exhibit as it was very interesting. I saw a small cahier Moleskine with this info on the card regarding Joint CIA-military operations in Afghanistan in 2001: “Our primary tools were 3-by-5 cards or a Moleskine notebook and a mechanical pencil.”
Even using the toilet is educational at the Science Center:
After that we spent a brief visit in the Sci-Fi museum seeing the 2 Game of Thrones costumes.
