Another ladybug

On the way over to the Daniel Smith mothership (Seattle store) to meet a friend, I stopped to sketch this odd ladybug.  The weekly theme for Urban Sketchers is insects.  Not wanting to just do a nature study, I was hoping to find more insect sculptures.

I’ve known about this place for over 2 years as I drive by it on the way to DS.  I did try to sketch it once but bit off rather more than I could chew.  And I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on the corner with huge trucks rumbling by just a few feet from my spot.  It’s a rather industrial area.

But Gabi sketched it for last week’s column.  As I drove by, I did a double take when I noticed the vacuum that looked like a ladybug.  Interesting, but it’s not the same item that was on the wall when Gabi sketched there.

But I got another ladybug for the weekly theme!

Then I drove on to DS, where lots of fun ensued.  See next post!
