Into town

The “Drawn to Seattle” exhibit is, sadly, over.  That means it’s time to pick up the sketchbooks that were on display.  I headed into Seattle to pick mine up as well as those of a friend who lives even further south than I do.  It was another perfect day.  Of course, I brought my sketch bag with the plan to do some sketches.

I was there a little before my appointment time with MOHAI staff, so I stopped to  sketch these crazy neon blue thistles.  I didn’t even get them bright blue enough!

I’d planned to stop along the trolley route to sketch this sculpture in front of Whole Foods at South Lake Union.  The figures are slightly larger than life sized.  It is by Akio Takamori, a sculptor now living and teaching in Seattle.

Loads of people were out enjoying the sun at lunch.  All those tech workers from Amazon and other companies were on the steps.
