Tacoma USk at Fort Nisqually

Urban Sketchers Tacoma met today at Fort Nisqually.  We spread out in and around the Fort.  This was my 4th trip to the Fort, so I’ve sketched a bit before.   Today I first focused on some gourds in the sun.  I liked the shadows.

Next I sketched a larger scene, one of the Bastions at the back corner.  Fort Nisqually was an outpost of the Hudson’s Bay Company and not a military fort.  However, the 4 bastions were for protection from theft and, if necessary, for defense.

Then we got back together to share our sketches.

Then some of us had a picnic lunch together.
