Seahawks inspiration

Sketched from a photo found on-line

In case you absolutely don’t read any sports news, the Seattle football team is the Seahawks.  They were last year’s Super Bowl champions.  The Burke Natural History Museum at the University of Washington has had a campaign to obtain a First Nations cedar mask that is the likely inspiration for the logo.  Here is more detail on that.

The funds have been raised and the mask will be on loan for the exhibit, “Here & Now: Native Artists Inspired” at the Burke.

The original Seahawks logo designers referenced books about Northwest Coast art for the design inspiration.
