Elfquest & more

What a night to forget my sketchbooks for Drink & Draw!  We had a surplus of models!!  I have a larger one I use for the pencil 2-5 minute warm ups.  Left it at home.  I’d also forgotten to take my regular Mixed Media book out of a tote bag and put it back in my sketch bag.  But I did have the booklet I’d made in the workshop at Daniel Smith.  I filled an entire signature.

The scheduled models for tonight’s Drink and Draw at AFK were James and Joy as Cutter and Leetah, from Elfquest.  These two have modeled a number of times and in many different costumes.  They have become favorites of mine.

2 and 5 minutes

5 minute poses

For the one on the left, I splashed on color and then added line.  I learned that doesn’t work well in a short pose situation as the watercolor can’t dry in time to add line.

10 minutes

Another person arrived, dressed as a pink cat.

Just before I left, a fairy joined the mix. She held the splits for the entire 10 minute pose!

What a night!  Thanks to all the excellent models!
