Big Wheel

No, not the Great Wheel.  That’s a ride on the waterfront in Seattle.     When the Urban
Sketchers weekly theme was announced, I knew this was exactly what I should sketch for it.  The theme?  Wheels.   This is a huge wheel that was the sign for a now defunct motorcycle shop on the main commercial street in my suburban city.

I started the day early to beat the heat.  It was only about 65 degrees as I sat on the sidewalk sketching this at 0830.  We’ve had record runs of 90 degrees and above. So today was a brief respite.
