Issaquah Drive In

It was a beautiful day for a bit of a drive so I went out to Issaquah.  I’d long noticed this odd drive in and decided today would be a good day to sketch it.

Some history:  http://www.triplexrootbeer.com/History.htm
But two interesting and important facts:
1.  The Issaquah Triple XXX is one of only two Triple XXX drive-ins still operating anywhere (the other is in West Lafayette, Indiana)?
2.  The barrel sign above the Triple XXX is the largest lighted Plexiglas sign in the West.

Hey, Tina… they had a Miata Club Meeting & Show there yesterday!

It’s very much a ’50’s diner and it is packed with stuff.

Fun sketch! I’m envious of your beautiful day! Nothing but wind and rain here in Wales.
