Smoke in the Sky

The southwest and now south east coast of USA have hurricanes.   We here in the Pacific Northwest have wildfires.  There are some very destructive ones burning to the East.  There is also one along the Columbia River to the South.

This morning the sky had an odd yellow-orange tinge and the smell of smoke.  When I went out for errands, I stopped for breakfast at a cafe and noticed the yellow-orange sun glowing through the smokey air.  There were also ashes floating on the breeze, covering cars and clothing.

Hopefully the predicted cooler temperatures and rain will help the fire fighters control these blazes before more damage is done.

Hope the weather improves for the firefighting. It is so scary that the ashes travel all the way to you. Nice sketch! I like the sherbet colored sky.
