Walking Egg cup

It’s as cold as Seattle area ever has been.  Given that and my recovering eye, I stayed inside to sketch today.   After reading the first of Cathy Johnson’s recent free handouts on designing Artist’s Journal pages, I painted one today.   Also inspired by Danny Gregory’s advice to draw everything and anything.  I thought I’d do a series of some objects that have some meaning to me.  Especially while it’s so cold and I’m in no mood to be out in it.

If you can’t read what I wrote…..

“These footed pieces were all the rage in England when I lived there.  I only got an egg cup but there were cups & teapots & all sorts.  I used it in my office at work ever since.  It held paperclips for over 30 years.  Now it sits on an end table.

The paper is 140 pound Arches stitched into a 4 page signature.  I think it’s a bit rough for this purpose.  When I did a lot of journal pages for NaNoDrawMo, I liked using the Super Bee spiral book of 90 pound paper.
